Yehovah is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 4:24

Scripture tells us to worship Yehovah in spirit and in truth. This means the spirit of an Acts 2:38 experience and the truth of Torah.
Yehovah says that we must have BOTH.
At Torah Observant Apostolics of Baton Rouge, we are whole Bible believers with both spirit and truth. We keep the biblical Sabbath (Saturday) and observe the Feast Days. At the same time we adhere to the Apostle’s Doctrine of Acts which includes Acts 2:38 salvation.
We are not Messianic. We are not Hebrew Roots. We are not “Jews for Jesus.” We are First Century Christians, Covenant Apostolics, keeping the Apostle’s Doctrine just like in the book of Acts.
Modeled After the First Century Church
We are a Covenant Apostolic congregation located in Baton Rouge but have fellowships located throughout Southern Louisiana. We are modeled after the first century church, the Acts church. Just as the Apostles and Yeshua did, we keep the seventh day Sabbath and the feast days. We preach, teach, and live the whole Bible.
If you are a Sabbath keeper in Baton Rouge, Denham Springs, Hammond, Lafayette, New Iberia, Slidell, or any of the surrounding areas and you have been looking for a Torah observant, Sabbath keeping church, check us out!
Pastor C.W. Mayberry leads our Sabbath service which is on Saturday at 12:30 pm. It includes prayer, music, Bible lesson, discussion, and wonderful, warm fellowship. Weekly prayer is on Tuesday at 7 pm.
If you would like a home Bible study in person, by Zoom, or at a nearby location, give us a call. For more information, call, email, text, or click the button below. We can’t wait to hear from you!
We are Not Hung Up on a Name
While we do use the names Yehovah and Yeshua we also use Jesus, God, and Yah.
The reason is because we minister to people from all faiths who are at all levels of spirituality. Some people are more comfortable with the name Jesus while others understand Yeshua. Some people may not even know who Yeshua is – they only know Him as Jesus.
We can’t discount these people. We can’t alienate them over a name.
If you are dead set on only using the Hebrew names, that is certainly your right.
But your nets will probably be pretty empty.
We are supposed to be reaching the lost, meeting them where they are. That means using language that they understand and are more familiar with. The eternal destination of their soul is more important than the name they use, especially when they are just meeting their Messiah, getting to know Him, and cultivating a relationship with Him. That’s ministry.
We want full nets.
We want EVERY soul to have a chance to enter the Kingdom.
And that is far more important than a name.
Shalom.
