September the third should be Yom Teruah ( the feast of trumpets ) the day of shouting.
I say ( should ) because in truth no man knows the day or the hour.
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
Matthew 24:36
In speaking of Yom Teruah, I am speaking of the second coming of Yeshua / Jesus.
Just as the Passover prefigured the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Yom Teruah is a prefiguring of the second coming.
It is an annual rehearsal and reminder to the faithful to remain aware.
3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
1 Thessalonians 5:3 – 10
4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
We do not believe as others do that there will be a secret rapture. No my friends the second coming will be extraordinarily swift and sudden.
Where is Feast of Trumpets in the Bible and How is it Determined?
The Feast of Trumpets is the only Moedim that occurs on the first day of the month. Because of this we can’t know the precise day or hour. Yom Teruah begins the sequence of events recorded in Leviticus 23: 24-44.
Due to the fact that the first day of any biblical month is determined by lunar observation, there can be a variance of as much as three days, though it is typically no more than two.
Also, consider that the visual appearance of the first sliver of the renewed moon lasts less than an hour. On the first day possible the visual conformation is only available for a very short period of time.
If we aren’t prepared in advance the event could catch us unaware. It could come and go before we are able to see it.
This is the heart of Yom Teruha, it will come so swiftly that only those who have been watching, sober, and vigilant will see it.
34 I say to you, In that night two will be on one bed; the one will be taken and the other will be left. 35 Two will be grinding together; one will be taken the other will be left. 36 Two will be in the field, the one will be taken and the other will be left. 37 And answering, they said to Him, Where, Lord? And He said to them, Where the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together.
Luke 17:34-37 (Literal Version – LITV)
Just as the renewed moon is visible for a short time the second coming will come and go catching the majority of the “Christian” world completely unaware and subject to the wrath of God.
Let me be clear, they are subject to his wrath because they are “ Christian “in name only.
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of Heaven, but the ones who do the will of My Father in Heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name do many works of power? 23 And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; “depart from Me, those working lawlessness!
Matthew 7:22–23
How is Feast of Trumpets Celebrated?
If you have only recently begun the journey to return Torah you may be wondering what it is that you should do.
On September Third take your family outside and look for the renewed moon. You can find information online as to the time and direction in which it will appear.
Do not be disappointed if you can’t sight it, it takes a little practice.
In some areas the typography makes it very difficult. If you can’t sight it, I would celebrate anyway. It is more important that our children learn to keep this practice than it is for us to get it exactly right.
Blow the shofar if you have one, or make noise with pots and pans. This may sound silly, but I promise you Yehovah will honor your efforts.
Read some of the verses we have pointed out in this lesson. Study these things out for yourself in advance and teach them to your family.
Sit down to eat as a family after the lesson, put away the phones, and talk about what has been taught that night.
The sighting of the renewed moon is actually to be done from Israel. We do it where we are as a means of teaching. There are multiple sources that can confirm the sighting of the renewed moon in Israel. Devorah s Date Tree is one.
The world we are living in is changing rapidly, as much as I don’t want to say it, the line between the Holy and the unholy is becoming more distinct every day.
There will come a day when we will be looking at the Feast of Trumpets with great expectation. There will come a season in which we are crying out “come Yeshua come!”
For now, let us show ourselves to be faithful and wise by keeping Yehovah’s appointed feasts.
