Pastor CW Mayberry

We typically ask to meet with anyone who wishes to attend our local Sabbath service prior to their first Sabbath with us.

We can do this at an agreed upon time and location. We can also do this via Zoom.

We ask for this introductory meeting for a number of reasons.

First and foremost, we meet in private homes. We gather with other families and enjoy our time of worship, teaching, and fellowship.

Our wives and children are present in this closed environment.

We place a great degree of value on the safety of our friends and families. We are equally concerned for the safety of anyone visiting us.

Unfortunately, the world we live in can be dangerous at times. The last thing we want to do is expose your family or ours to such dangers.

Another reason for the initial meeting is that we would like the opportunity to get to know a little about you before coming together in our congregation. This informal one-on-one meeting allows us to spend some individual time with you, answer your questions, and learn about you, your background, and experiences, all in a distraction-free environment. This meeting allows us to fully focus on YOU.

One of the fastest ways to familiarize someone with the doctrine we teach is to know the perspective from which they are coming to us. This allows us to deal with common misconceptions that are prevalent in certain belief systems.

Make no mistake though, we will not tell you what you have to believe. We will just help you uncover the truth of the holy scriptures and discover what your Bible really says. The growing part is between you and Yehovah – but if you have questions, we’re always here to help.

Understanding the general background of the whole group helps in the structuring of the teaching we do as well.

We don’t want to spend a great deal of time teaching you what you already know. We want to see you grow and walk in the plan that Yehovah has had for you before He even formed you.

You may also choose to have a separate Bible study in your home in order to establish the fundamentals of the doctrine we teach at an advanced rate. This would not exclude you from joining our Sabbath service, it would simply supplement it.

When we meet, it allows all of us to determine if we are the best fit for you and your family. We are very open about our beliefs in our published materials, but we want you to have the opportunity to ask questions of my wife and me. And of course, we want you to feel comfortable, so we do a one-on-one to give you that opportunity.
