These are some of the most common questions that we get from people who are new to Torah or to Torah Observant Apostolic.

Do you require that I use a certain name for Jesus?
We are not hung up on a name.
There’s too much riding on this for us to exclude people, hungry people, because they use the “wrong” name.
That is NOT holy.
We tend to use the names that are common for the people we are ministering to. Some come to us and don’t even know who Yehovah and Yeshua are. Should they be rebuked or, worse, turned away just because they have not been taught the names of their God?
We believe that through teaching and study they will learn the names and come to it on their own.
Transitioning from church to this is enough without someone bashing them about a name.
We are more interested in the souls, not in the superiority of rightness. After all, we’re not Pharisees.

What is biblical Salvation? What must I do to be saved?
We believe what Yeshua taught in John 3 and what was taught and demonstrated in Acts 2:38 as well as in other scripture. The ONLY salvation method that is taught and demonstrated in scripture has three crucial elements:
* Repentance
* Baptism in the name of Yeshua
* Baptism of the Holy Spirit, evidenced by speaking in other tongues

Can I Baptize Myself?
I got baptized in titles. Do I need to be baptized again?
The only baptism that is demonstrated and taught in scripture is in the name of Jesus (we baptize in the name of Yeshua).
You will not find anyone in scripture who is baptized in the titles.
Every single verse about baptism emphasized the name.
If you were baptized in titles then you do need to be baptized again in the correct way.

Is speaking in tongues necessary for Salvation?
Speaking in tongues is the only evidence that scripture gives us for a person who is baptized in the Holy Spirit. Because being filled with the Holy Spirit is essential for salvation, speaking in tongues is indeed necessary.
It is important to understand that the act of speaking in tongues is not what is required for salvation, being baptized in the Holy Spirit is. But the ONLY evidence that scripture gives for that is tongues, making speaking in tongues essential because that is the ONLY way to know.
If you haven’t spoken in tongues then you have not been filled with the Holy Spirit.

Are the fruits of the Spirit evidence of someone receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit?
The consistent, sustained display of the fruits of the Spirit are evidence of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. This is a long term observation and therefore is not sufficient for using as evidence that someone has been baptized in the Spirit (which is evidenced by the immediate action of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance).

Is Jesus part of a trinity?
No. Scripture clearly tells us that Jesus is God. In fact, “God” is not a name, it’s an office. The titles are actually offices that the one true God holds and each office has a specific purpose.
Creative – The Father
Redemptive – The Son
Restorative – The Holy Spirit
In John 1:1-14 we see that Yehovah walked among us as Yeshua. But evidence of the oneness of God is resonated throughout scripture again and again.

Didn’t the law end at the cross?
No. The only thing that ended at the cross was the requirement for the sacrifice of animals to atone for sin. This is because Yeshua was the sacrificial lamb and now is that blood sacrifice.

Didn’t Jesus say that He came to fulfill the law?
Yes. And He still is. The law was not completely fulfilled at the cross. He said that until heaven and earth pass away, the law still stands.
He IS fulfilling the law, even now.
While Jesus’ earthly body died on the cross, He is still very much alive!

The prophecy surrounding Him is in two parts – before the cross, or more specifically, the ascension, and after the ascension.
The first part, the crucifixion and pouring out of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, are walked out in the Spring Feasts. The next part, His return, is walked out in the Fall Feasts.
He came to fulfill the law, and He will continue to fulfill it until heaven and earth pass away.

Didn’t Peter’s vision mean that all foods are clean?
Peter’s vision in Acts 10:9-16 is often used as an attempt to justify eating unclean animals. People will twist these scriptures, saying that the vision means that it does away with the food laws.
That is in error.
The vision is about people, specifically Gentiles which is what God was leading Peter to – the home of the Gentile Cornelius whom he was to minister to.
We see this when Peter interprets his own dream in Acts 10:28
28 Then he said to them, “You know how unlawful it is for a Jewish man to keep company with or go to one of another nation. But God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean.
Isn’t the Old Testament the old covenant that was done away with at the cross?
No. It is one book. Man is the one who split the Bible into two sections.
It is one book that you cannot understand what is called the New Testament if you don’t study the Old Testament.
The law was not done away with – it still stands.

Is the pre-tribulation rapture real?
No. The pre-tribulation rapture is a man-made invention. There is no biblical evidence of it anywhere in scripture.
When you study the Bible you will see patterns. You will see types and shadows of events well before they occur.
There is no such type and shadow regarding a pre-tribulation rapture.
Not one of Yehovah’s people were “raptured out” of their tribulations. They all had to go through it.
The three Hebrew boys in Daniel 3:16-28 who were thrown in the furnace for refusing to obey the king were not raptured out. Yeshua went through the fire with them.
