An Eight-Day Family Devotional
Beginning at sunset on September 26, we will share a brief online family devotional for each day of Sukkot, including special devotionals for the first day and the Feast of the Eighth Day.
If you have an opportunity to gather with other believers for Sukkot, we encourage you to do so. This feast is meant to be shared. There is something beautiful about Yehovah’s people worshipping, eating, rejoicing, and spending unhurried time together.
But we also know that gathering with other believers is not possible for everyone.
Some families live far from a Torah-observant fellowship. Some are keeping Sukkot for the first time with no one nearby to guide them. Others may be limited by health, transportation, work, finances, or family circumstances.
If that is where you are, you have not been forgotten.
This devotional is not intended to replace gathering with Yehovah’s people. It is a way to help you keep the meaning of the feast before your family each day—whether you are celebrating with a congregation, with a few friends around the table, or quietly at home.

A Time to Remember Rejoice and Look Ahead
During Sukkot, we remember how Yehovah brought Israel out of Egypt and cared for them in the wilderness. We rejoice because the same Yehovah who provided for them is still providing for His people today.
And we look ahead.
Sukkot points toward the coming Kingdom, when Yeshua will reign upon the earth and, ultimately, Yehovah will dwell with His people forever.
That is a lot to take in. It is also why Sukkot is such a beautiful feast to experience as a family.
Each day’s devotional includes:
- A portion of Scripture to read together
- A brief family devotional
- Discussion questions
- A family prayer
You do not need to know everything before you begin.
You do not need an elaborate sukkah, expensive decorations, or a perfectly planned week. If this is your family’s first Sukkot, begin where you are. Use what you have. Set aside some time, open the Bible, and participate with a willing heart.
Yehovah is not looking for perfection.
He is looking for participation.
When Is Sukkot in 2026?
Sukkot begins at sunset on September 26, 2026.
The first day of Sukkot is a High Sabbath. It begins at sunset on September 26 and continues until sunset on September 27.
The seven days of Sukkot conclude at sunset on October 3. At that time, the Feast of the Eighth Day—Shemini Atzeret—begins. It continues until sunset on October 4.
A new devotional will be added each day, beginning after sunset on September 26.
How to Use the Family Devotional
There really is no complicated formula.
Gather your family and begin by reading the listed Scripture aloud. If your children are old enough to read, let them take turns. Then read the brief devotional and use the questions to begin a conversation.
And it should be a conversation.
Children do not need to produce polished “Bible answers.” Give them time to notice things, think out loud, ask questions, and make connections. You may be surprised by what they see in the Word.
Finish by praying together. You may read the family prayer as written, take turns praying, or simply use it to help you begin.
Most importantly, do not rush through this just to say it is done.
Slow down.
Share a meal. Tell the children what Yehovah has done. Talk about the coming Kingdom. Sit outside if you can. Put the phones away for a while. Laugh together. Worship together.
You are making memories while you teach your children what Yehovah has done—and what He has promised to do.
Get Ready for the Sukkot Bible Adventure
This devotional will include more than something for your family to read.
During Sukkot, children—and willing grown-ups—will have an opportunity to build a miniature Sukkot Bible Adventure inside a box. But this is more than a craft. As your family explores Scripture, you will discover what belongs in the scene and why it matters.
You will begin with a sukkah and gradually add details connected to Israel’s wilderness journey, Yehovah’s provision, His presence among His people, and the coming Kingdom. There will also be a Scripture scavenger hunt that invites your family to find, photograph, draw, and add discoveries to the scene.
You do not need to build anything yet.
For now, download the supply list and begin looking around your home. Many of the things you need may already be waiting for you in a craft drawer, recycling bin, backyard, or kitchen cabinet.
Gather the basics now. When the devotional begins, Scripture will show you what to do with them.
